OutIn Nano 2 portable espresso maker: Espresso, anywhere.
OutIn Nano 2. A portable espresso machine that heats its own water and pulls a 21-bar shot from a single button.
The Idea
A good shot used to need a counter, an outlet and a machine the size of a microwave. The Nano 2 fits all of it in one hand: it heats the water, builds the pressure and pulls the shot, wherever you happen to be.

Is it worth it? Built for the road. Not for every kitchen.
If you make coffee away from a kitchen (camping, road trips, flights, the office), the Nano 2 is hard to beat: a battery espresso maker that heats its own water, extracts at up to 21 bar and lasts up to 9 shots per charge. At home, next to a full-size machine, it is a nice extra rather than a replacement.
Get it if
- You brew outdoors, on road trips or at a desk with no kitchen.
- You want hot espresso without packing a kettle or a stove.
- You already drink Nespresso Original capsules.
- You like one USB-C charger for your phone, laptop and coffee.
Skip it if
- You want café-level control: the stock 8 g pressurized basket favors convenience over dialing in.
- You need several drinks back to back from cold water: each one takes about 160 s to heat.
- You use Vertuo capsules. They do not fit.
- Every gram counts in your pack. It weighs 740 g.
Nano 2 vs Nano: What changed. What didn’t.
The upgrade in one line: about twice the battery energy, faster charging and faster heating.

Frequently asked questions about the OutIn Nano 2
Does it heat the water itself?
Yes. It heats room-temperature water to about 93 °C in roughly 160 seconds (50 ml). Start with hot water to skip the wait and save battery.
Which capsules does it take?
Nespresso Original capsules with the included adapter, or your own ground coffee in the filter basket. Vertuo capsules are not compatible.
How many shots per charge?
Up to 9 from room-temperature water. Starting with hot water, OutIn quotes up to 600, because the battery only has to run the pump.
How do I charge it?
Over USB-C. With a 45 W USB-C PD charger it goes from empty to full in about 100 minutes.
Is it waterproof?
It is rated IPX4: splash resistant, not waterproof. Keep it out of rain and never submerge it.
Can I take the OutIn Nano 2 on a plane?
Its 54 Wh battery is under the 100 Wh limit for lithium-ion batteries in carry-on bags, so pack it in your carry-on, not in checked luggage. You cannot use it during the flight. Rules vary by airline, so check yours before you fly.
Does it make real espresso with crema?
Yes. It brews at about 93 °C and up to 21 bar, which is espresso territory, and the pressurized basket helps build crema even with pre-ground coffee or capsules.
What is the difference between the Nano 2 and the original Nano?
The Nano 2 has about twice the battery energy (54 Wh vs ~28 Wh), charges in about 100 minutes instead of 180, heats water faster, and pulls up to 9 cold-water shots per charge instead of 5. It is 70 g heavier.
